The Dry Stone Walling Association of Great Britain is delighted to report that Sean Adcock, DSWA Master Craftsman and former Trustee, has been awarded the Medallist of the British Empire in the 2024 New Year Honours List for services to Dry Stone Walling.

 

A longstanding DSWA member and intrinsic part of the Wales Branch, Sean has an impressive walling career in the UK and North America having undertaken walling projects, talks and instructing. Many will recognise him for being an author of the ever-popular TCV Dry Stone Walling Practical Handbook (often referred to as the ‘wallers bible’) which was the beginning of Sean penning numerous other publications such as the important bilingual booklet “Clawdd Construction/Codi Cloddiau”.

Having started his walling journey in the early 80’s, Sean has achieved a score of accomplishments such as his Master Craftsman qualification, winning approximately 30 walling competitions including the North Wales Professional Championship 6 of the 8 years it was held, the Yorkshire Open 5 times in a row as well as being runner up to 2 DSWA Grand Prix’s.
