Congratulations to Simon Morphet from High Bentham in Yorkshire who has become one of the youngest people to successfully achieve the Dry Stone Walling Association’s Master Craftsman qualification. Simon, who has been walling from a young age, has been working his way through the different levels of qualification to this final goal of becoming a Master Craftsman, which saw him build a series of complex features including a square pillar, step stile and square corner.

Over the years, Simon has also been a regular competitor at walling competitions throughout the region, winning several times at Penrith Show and he scooped first prize in the Young Farmer category at the DSWA 50th Anniversary Walling Competition back in 2018.
