The Dry Stone Walling Association (DSWA) is seeking to appoint a Training & Education Coordinator to work within its small team of staff and volunteers as part of wider developments within the DSWA. The postholder will have responsibility for developing and expanding the existing training opportunities in dry stone walling as well as providing clear advice and direction about training and qualifications in the craft to prospective dry stone wallers and training providers.  Other key areas will include:

• working with external organisations to promote the provision of dry stone walling training and offer bespoke training packages;
• organising and promoting national dry stone walling training courses and test days;
• arranging test days for internal and external training providers in conjunction with the Chief Examiner.
The postholder will also work with the Development Team to promote the possibility of training through corporate events and dry stone walling experience days.

The postholder will report to the DSWA Trustee Board through the DSWA Chairman or their delegate.

The post will initially be 21 hours per week, based at the DSWA Head Office at Crooklands near Kendal, Cumbria.  Some home working might be appropriate. The postholder will be expected to travel to and from the office for normal office working at their own expense.  Official travel and occasional weekend working will be necessary and costs will be reimbursed.  Starting salary £21,000 pro rata for 21 hours per week.  The successful candidate would be expected to start by 2nd March 2020.
