How we work

The Dry Stone Walling Association is governed in accordance with UK charity law by a voluntary Board of Trustees. The Board is made up of up to twelve elected Trustees, who appoint a Chair and Deputy Chair from among their members.

The Trustees are responsible for the overall leadership and governance of the Association. This includes setting strategic direction, overseeing policies and budgets, and determining staffing levels.

Supporting the Board are a number of specialist sub-committees focused on key areas including craft skills, finance and marketing.

The Association’s day-to-day operations are managed by a dedicated staff team, including a full-time Administrator, a part-time Administrative Assistant, and a  full-time Training and Education Coordinator.
