Dry Stone Walls in Rutland 1

I have a few dry stone walls on our farm in Rutland, although they are showing their age now I do try and maintain them. Today I am going to a meeting on the entry level scheme where we obtain points for environmental work which is then converted to a payment and walls attract some points for their upkeep. Also farmers have to do what is called cross compliance where there are rules on management and stone walls are not to be removed without permission from DEFRA - not that we were ever going to do that.
